Dan Hardy looking to return to the UFC for big fights

It has been nearly 4 years since Dan Hardy was in the Octagon. Hardy was diagnosed with a heart condition that prevented him from fighting and continuing his 2-fight win streak. Now, almost 4 years later, Hardy is healthy enough to return to the Octagon, and has big things in mind. He spoke to MMAJunkie to discuss what it would take for him to return to the UFC.

Earlier this month it was revealed that UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier had injured his leg in training, and would be unable to fight Jon Jones in the main event of UFC 197 on April 23rd. The UFC booked Ovince Saint Preux as a replacement opponent for Jones, and made the bout an interim title fight. Assuming Jon Jones wins the fight, Daniel Cormier would like to have his rematch with the pound for pound king ASAP.

At UFC 200, Amanda Nunes will face the toughest test of her professional MMA career as she fights Miesha Tate for the UFC women’s bantamweight championship in the co-main event. When the fight was announced, many questioned whether or not Nunes deserved a title shot despite her 3-fight win streak. Holly Holm’s camp came out and accused Tate of turning down a rematch with Holm in order to take an easier fight, which lead to Tate’s camp refuting the claims.

News broke late Friday evening that former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir had Ben informed of a potential doping violation by the US Anti-Doping Agency. The potential drug testing failure stems from Mir’s recent fight against Mark Hunt, which he lost via 1st round KO. The UFC released a statement through UFC.com which read: The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Frank Mir of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an in-competition sample collected the day of his fight on March 20, 2016 in Brisbane, Australia.
