Tuesday afternoon UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor left the MMA world confused after he took to Twitter to announce his retirement. While many suspected that the Tweet was a ‘troll job’ by McGregor, sources revealed that McGregor was not joking when he announced his retirement. This was then followed up by a Tweet from McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh, who revealed that McGregor was in fact retiring.

It’s no secret that UFC pound for pound kingpin Jon Jones has battled with addiction. ‘Bones’ tested positive for cocaine prior to UFC 178, and then checked himself in to rehab after his hit-and-run incident in April of 2015. Before Jones was even re-instated by the UFC, he moved to Albuquerque New Mexico to train full time and live a healthier lifestyle. Jones spent a day with USA Today Sports back in March after it was announced that he would fight Ovince Saint Preux for the interim light heavyweight championship at UFC 197, rather than have a rematch with Daniel Cormier for the UFC light heavyweight championship.

News broke this week that popular UFC Octagon girl Brittney Palmer had filed a lawsuit against her husband Aaron Zalewski stemming from an incident that saw Zalewski arrested and charged with attempted murder, spousal battery, and criminal threats on June 11th. According to BloodyElbow, Palmer’s lawsuit, which was filed by Christopher Darden, states that the incident stemmed from Zalewski demanding Palmer leave the entertainment industry, and then subsequently demanding a divorce.

On Saturday, Jon Jones will make his highly anticipated return to the Octagon after over a year away from the sport due to legal troubles. Jones will face Ovince Saint Preux in an interim light heavyweight title fight that will see the winner eventually face Daniel Cormier for the undisputed light heavyweight championship. Before Jones was reinstated by the UFC, he was bulking up and putting on extreme amounts of muscle. While this was undoubtably impressive, many wondered how this would affect Jones’ cardio when he returned to the Octagon.
