Yesterday evening news broke that former UFC middleweight title holder Chris Weidman had suffered an injury and was forced to withdraw from his scheduled UFC 199 rematch with current champion Luke Rockhold on June 4 in Los Angeles. Shortly after the news broke, multiple fighters took to Twitter to ask for the short-notice fight with Rockhold.

According to MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani, the frontrunner to replace Weidman is Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, who is coming off a first round TKO win over Vitor Belfort this past weekend at UFC 198.
