Former Strikeforce champion Dan Henderson scored an absolutely brutal knockout victory over former Bellator title holder Hector Lombard at last night’s UFC 199 event in Los Angeles. The 45-year-old landed a head kick on Lombard and then hit him with an elbow that caused “Lightning” to fall crashing to the canvas in the bouts second-round.

Michael Bisping was able to shock the mixed martial arts world yesterday in Los Angeles by scoring a first-round knockout victory over Luke Rockhold to claim the UFC’s middleweight championship. “The Count”, who took yesterday’s title fight on just two weeks notice, was able to catch Luke Rockhold with a couple of big left hands before putting him to sleep with some shots against the cage.

During last night’s UFC 199 pay-per-view broadcast, UFC officials announced that former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar would be returning to the octagon at July’s blockbuster UFC 200 event in Las Vegas. The news came as quite a shock, as Lesnar has not stepped foot inside the octagon since his 2011 TKO loss to Alistair Overeem.

The main event of UFC 199 featured a middleweight title fight between current champ Luke Rockhold (15-3 MMA) and perennial contender Michael Bisping (29-7 MMA). Round one begins and Michael Bisping opens things up with a front kick. Rockhold repsonds with a front kick to the body of his own. Bisping throws a leaping left hook that misses the mark. Luke with a leg kick and then another. Bisping lands a push kick and then a left hand. Good left hooks from both men. Rockhold lands a kick to the body. Bisping fires back with one of his own. Luke with a nice front kick to the body. He chops at the legs of “The Count”. Rockhold lands a nice left hand. He connects with an inside leg kick. Bisping responds with a leg kick. Excellent left hand from Bisping. He drops Luke. Rockhold is back up. Bisping sends him crashing to the floor with another left hand. It is all over!

The UFC bantamweight title was on the line in the co-main event of UFC 199 in Los Angeles as current champ Dominick Cruz (22-1 MMA) took on bitter rival Urijah Faber (33-9 MMA). Round one begins and Dominick scores an early takedown. He begins working from full guard. Cruz with some good punches from the top. Faber scrambles and gets back to his feet. Cruz with a good kick to the body. Faber lands a right hand but eats a knee to the body. He shoots in and picks Cruz up and slams him down. Cruz scrambles and takes top position. Faber gets back to his feet and lands a right hand. Dominick pushes Faber up against the cage. They break. Cruz with a head kick that is blocked by Urijah. Faber is chasing Cruz around the cage. Dominick tries a single leg takedown but it is not there. Cruz with a nice jab and then a left hook. He lands another nice combination. Faber throws punches back but they don’t find a home. Round one comes to an end.

During tonight’s UFC 199 pay-per-view card it was announced that former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar would be returning to the octagon at July’s blockbuster UFC 200 event in Las Vegas. No opponent has been named for “The Beast” at this time.

During the UFC 199 broadcast it was officially announced that Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor 2 would be going down at UFC 202 on August 20th. This came after much back & forth regarding the bout. With the UFC brass looking to book the bout due to McGregor’s ‘obsession’ with the fight. Following that it looked as though the fight wouldn’t get booked.

A middleweight bout between former Strikeforce champion Dan Henderson (32-14 MMA) and former Bellator title holder Hector Lombard (34-6-1 MMA) took place at tonight’s UFC 199 event in Los Angeles. Round one begins and both fighters throw right hands that just miss. Hendo connects with a short right hand. Lombard presses forward. Lombard with a big leg kick. Hendo replies with a huge right that stuns Lombard. Henderson rushes in but gets caught by a Lombard left hand. He drops to the canvas. Lombard follows him to the ground. He gets him in a crucifix. Lombard with big shots from the top. Henderson escapes and gets up to his feet. Lombard hits him with a big combo. Hendo is rocked. His legs are jelly. Lombard with more big shots. Hendo hits the floor again. Lombard with some shots from full guard. Henderson is utilizing some good defense. Round one comes to an end.
