Since it was announced that Brock Lesnar had missed 3 of 4 USADA random drug testing cycles given the fact that his UFC 200 fight with Mark Hunt wasn’t announced until June 4th, many fans have accused Lesnar of using PEDs. USADA likely was suspicious of the situation as well, which prompted them to apparently test Lesnar 5 times in the span of one week.

Prior to Jon Jones’ return to the Octagon in April at UFC 197, the pound for pound kingpin packed on a considerable amount of muscle. Many questioned whether or not this would have a significant impact on Jones’ performance inside the Octagon given that he was carrying so much extra muscle. After his unanimous decision win over Ovince Saint Preux, Jones stated that he felt great, and could even go another 5 rounds. However, with less than 2 weeks to go until his UFC 200 rematch with Daniel Cormier, Jones revealed that he has spent the majority of this training camp burning off muscle with endurance training.

With the win, Souza became the presumptive #1 contender at middleweight, leading many to expect him to get a title shot over the winner of UFC 199’s Rockhold-Weidman rematch. With just two weeks to go before UFC 199, Chris Weidman was forced out of his fight with Luke Rockhold. While many hoped Souza would get the call to step-in on short notice, he revealed that he was preparing to undergo knee surgery. Ultimately the UFC selected Michael Bisping as a fill-in opponent for Rockhold.

Two suspects have been arrested and charged in connection with the death of former UFC fighter Ryan Jimmo. Edmonton Police Service confirmed with MMA Fighting on Wednesday that 23-year-old Anthony Getschel was arrested and charged with “second degree murder, criminal negligence causing death, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, and fail to stop at scene of accident involving death.” 21-year-old Jordan Wagner was arrested and charged with “accessory after the fact to murder.”
