While many believe that USADA is doing a phenomenal job of testing UFC fighters in an attempt to eliminate PED usage in MMA, the US Anti-Doping Agency isn’t ready to take their foot off the pedal just yet. UFC VP of Athlete Health & Performance Jeff Novitzky told MMAFighting that USADA is looking to test nearly 700 fighters in the 3rd quarter of 2016, nearly triple the amount they were doing per quarter in 2015.

Immediately after Tyron Woodley knocked out Robbie Lawler at UFC 201 to become the new UFC welterweight champion of the world, “The chosen one” campaigned for a fight with Nick Diaz. Diaz, fresh off an 18-month suspension for testing positive for marijuana, said that he isn’t in any rush to get back in the Octagon. Diaz stated that even though Woodley has the belt, he is the one that is giving him the shot at a big name fight, not the other way around.

The man who TKOd Carvalho was Charlie Ward, teammate of UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor. The featherweight champ not only helped Ward prepare for the fight, but was also sitting cageside for the catastrophe. McGregor was extremely vocal about the tragedy, posting heartfelt messages on his social media pages regarding the heartbreaking situation.
