Earlier this year, just months after knocking out Jose Aldo to claim the UFC featherweight championship, Conor McGregor was slated to fight Rafael dos Anjos for the UFC lightweight championship at UFC 196. Unfortunately, dos Anjos pulled out of the fight just 2-weeks before the event was slated to take place. Ultimately, the UFC selected Nate Diaz as a fill-in opponent, and he handed McGregor his first UFC loss.

With less than a month to go until his UFC debut, the promotion released the trailer for The Evolution of CM Punk, which will debut on Fox Sports 1 on August 15th at 6:30 ET.

News surfaced this week that ‘Ultimate Fighter: China’ winner Ning Guangyou failed a drug test for Clanbuterol. The failed drug test stems from a random out-of-competition drug test back in May. Interestingly enough, Guangyou will not be suspended for the infraction given that since 2011, WADA has been aware that failed drug tests for Clanbuterol are generally the result of tainted meat in China and Mexico.

The jiu-jitsu wizard put on a dominating performance for all three rounds of her fight with Kenia Rosas and ended up winning a unanimous decision. Dern is honing her MMA skills with former UFC lightweight champion and current Bellator star Benson Henderson at The MMA Lab in Arizona. Henderson spoke on The MMA Hour on Monday and talked about Dern’s potential.

Henderson landed a perfectly placed elbow in the moment that Lombard was trying to land a single leg takedown. After the win, many believed that the 45 year old would retire, however Henderson had other plans. Ultimately, the UFC booked a middleweight title fight between Henderson and Bisping, a rematch of their UFC 100 fight that saw Henderson starch Bisping.
