Early yesterday morning, former UFC welterweight title challenger Nick Diaz was surprised with a random drug test from USADA, this after the Stockton native had apparently been “out all night” and had gone without any sleep. Obviously Nick was not to happy about the situation and thus proceeded to share his verbal argument with the USADA agent, followed by his random drug test on social media.

Tuesday afternoon UFC President Dana White shocked the MMA community as he gave a major update in regards to Jon Jones’ failed drug test case with the US Anti-Doping Agency. Jones, who was pulled from UFC 200 for a failed out-of-competition drug test, actually “did not take the drug everybody thought he took” according to Dana White. This comes several weeks after it was revealed that USADA was looking into the possibility that a supplement Jones had taken was contaminated with a banned substance not listed on the package.

Lightweight #1 contender Khabib Nurmagomedov continued his streak of calling out the UFC’s best today when he simultaneously roasted UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor, UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez, and UFC lightweight contender Nate Diaz in one Tweet. Nurmagomedov and Alvarez have had a back and forth war of words since Alvarez won the UFC lightweight championship last month. While Nurmagomedov is the lightweight #1 contender, Alvarez has been very vocal about the fact that he doesn’t believe ‘The Eagle’ deserves a title shot.

While there has been no official word yet on whether or not former UFC welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre will return to the Octagon, Reebok just dropped a major bombshell on the MMA community. For the first time since the UFC’s partnership with Reebok, a Georges St-Pierre ‘Fight Kit’ is on the Reebok Canada store. The product sold out extremely quick, however it is still available for viewing on the Reebok website.

When news broke that Jon Jones was pulled from his title fight with Daniel Cormier at UFC 200 for an Anti-Doping Policy violation, the MMA community was in total shock. With Jones going through the “full fair legal review process that is afforded to all athletes,” some potentially good news has come out for Jones.

With less than a week to go until UFC 202, where Nate Diaz will look to once again defeat featherweight champion Conor McGregor, Reebok is looking to give Nate Diaz fans a shirt they can proudly wear on fight night. The shirt is in honor of the ‘Stockton Slap’ popularized by the Diaz brothers. Both men have been seen using the technique in the Octagon to trash talk and belittle their opponents.

At one point in time, UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor was set to headline UFC 200 against Nate Diaz. With that being said, McGregor was ultimately pulled from the card for refusing to fulfill his media obligations for the event. Despite that, he was cageside on July 9th to watch as Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar squared off for the interim featherweight championship.

Prior to Nurmagomedov’s return to the Octagon earlier this year, where he TKOd UFC newcomer Darrell Horcher, Nurmagomedov defeated Rafael dos Anjos, who went on to become lightweight champ. The win over Horcher extended Nurmagomedov’s professional record to 23-0, and his UFC record to 7-0.

Last month, MMA veteran Eddie Alvarez shocked the world as he knocked out Rafael dos Anjos in just minutes to become the UFC lightweight champion. Alvarez hadn’t been champion for more than 24 hours before he decided to call out featherweight champion Conor McGregor, who was already slated for a UFC 202 fight with Nate Diaz on August 20th. Not only did Alvarez call for a fight with the winner of McGregor vs. Diaz II, he referred to the fight as an “easier fight”, which likely didn’t sit well with the featherweight champion. This month, in a separate interview, Alvarez once again called for a fight with McGregor, insinuating that the featherweight champ was scared to fight him.

Sonnen, who recently celebrated the end of his 2-year suspension, had been MIA on social media for several days before news broke of his daughter’s premature birth.
