In May of this year, UFC middleweight Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza (23-4) pummelled Vitor Belfort en route to a fantastic, first-round TKO. The win pushed the talented grappler to a fantastic 9-1 in his last 10–a controversial loss to Yoel Romero being his only hiccup in that stretch. In the wake of his defeat of Belfort, Jacare spent some time on the shelf with an injury. But according to a Tuesday Instagram post, he’s now recovered, and he wants to know who you’d like to see him fight next.

Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler’s immediate future looks like it could get very interesting. We know that he’ll be taking on former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson on November 19. Should he pass that test, Chandler can then look forward to a scrap with another UFC veteran in Josh Thompson, and perhaps even to a scrap with former Bellator featherweight champion Patricio “Pitbull” Freire. Yet on his Monday appearance on The MMA Hour, Chandler explained to host Ariel Helwani that his big-ticket possibilities don’t end there either. Instead, he said he’d be interested in a possible move up to 170lbs to fight recent Bellator signee Rory MacDonald.

Former Bellator lightweight title challenger Marcin Held has signed with the UFC, according to the Polish fighter’s Facebook page. “I want to announce that I am officially the UFC fighter!” Held wrote. “I hope you like this change and you will watch my next fight(s). Thanks for everyone who kept (their) fingers crossed. I (will) start climbing to the top.”

Over the last few years, former WWE star Bobby Lashley (14-2) has quietly emerged as one of Bellator’s top heavyweight talents. At Bellator 162, which will go down on October 21 in Memphis, Lashley will attempt to continue his march toward Bellator title contention when he takes on Josh Appelt (12-5). The two will meet in the evening’s co-main event, while middleweights Alexander Shlemenko and Kendall Grove will get headlining honors. Lashley will enter the fight with seven straight wins behind him, including four consecutive stoppages under the Bellator banner. Appelt, meanwhile, will walk onto the canvas on a two-fight streak, though that streak was preceded by three straight losses.

St-Pierre, who is currently in negotiations with the UFC regarding his return fight back to the Octagon, has yet to announce when he will be returning to the UFC, however earlier this month he stated that he is ready to make his return.

Evangelista Santos may have been on the wrong end of what many consider to be the most devastating injury in the history of MMA, however that hasn’t deterred him from wanting to return to the cage as soon as possible. Santos, who underwent surgery for the injury, has yet to be cleared by a doctor, but hopes to return to training sooner rather than later. In addition, Santos hopes to return to the cage to fight in December.
