With Dominick Cruz and Demetrious Johnson both hailed as two of the most dominant champions in the UFC, many fans have been calling for the pair to have a rematch of their 2011 scrap that saw Cruz walk away with a unanimous decision. Cruz, who is fresh off a dominant decision win over Urijah Faber at UFC 199, currently doesn’t have a fight set, but has verbally agreed to defend his belt against Cody Garbrandt.

Wednesday evening, former UFC welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre appeared on ‘UFC Tonight’ to discuss the rumors regarding his potential return to the Octagon. St-Pierre revealed that he is more than willing to return to the Octagon, however the UFC has his terms, and the pair has yet to reach a deal. In addition, St-Pierre revealed that he’s interested in fighting Nick Diaz, Tyron Woodley, and Demian Maia.

Several months later, in the main event of UFC 202, McGregor evened the score, defeating Diaz via majority decision in a truly unforgettable fight. Given that the pair is now 1-1 across two incredible battles, logic would seem to scream “rubber match!” Given that both fighters asked for a third fight in their post-fight Octagon interviews with Joe Rogan, the likelihood of a rubber match seems even higher.
