Contrary to Maia-Masvidal reports, Cub Swanson says he's still in the UFC Nashville main event
Tom Taylor - February 28, 2017
Late last week, reports of a massive welterweight contender bout between Demian Maia and Jorge Masvidal began to surface. Though this fight has not yet been announced by the UFC, these reports suggested that this fight would serve as the main event of the UFC’s April 22 trip to Nashville, Tennessee. If this was indeed the case, this would mean that Cub Swanson’s recently announced featherweight battle with Artem Lobov would not serve as the main event, as originally expected. According to Swanson himself, however, his fight with Lobov will still serve as Nashville’s main event. The featherweight star has apparently confirmed this with the UFC.

Tyron Woodley fires back at Dana White over 'drama queen' comments
bjpenndotcom - February 28, 2017
UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley has made several bold claims leading up to his UFC 209 welterweight title fight with Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson this Saturday. The most controversial being his claim that his lack of popularity is in-part due to his race, which he believes plays a role in why UFC flyweight kingpin Demetrious Johnson doesn’t receive the push he deserves from the UFC. That rant didn’t sit too well with UFC President Dana White, who called Woodley a “drama queen”:
Johny Hendricks weighs-in on Georges St-Pierre return
bjpenndotcom - February 28, 2017
Back in 2013, Johny Hendricks stepped into the Octagon for a highly anticipated fight with UFC welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre. The pair scrapped in the main event of UFC 167, where St-Pierre picked up a controversial split decision to retain the welterweight championship. Following the fight, St-Pierre vacated the title and stepped away from the Octagon. Now, with a Georges St-Pierre return on the horizon following news that the former champ had signed a new multi-fight contract, and Hendricks currently fighting at middleweight, the former champ spoke on The MMA Hour to discuss the return of Georges St-Pierre, saying:
Anthony Johnson plans to 'Whoop Cormier's ass' at UFC 210
bjpenndotcom - February 28, 2017
In just over one month, UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will step into the Octagon against Anthony Johnson for a highly anticipated rematch for the UFC light heavyweight title at UFC 210. The first time the pair met in the Octagon, they were fighting for Jon Jones vacant light heavyweight title two years ago, after Cormier stepped in for Jones on short notice due to his infamous hit and run incident. Unfortunately, while Cormier and Johnson were booked for a rematch before, Cormier was forced out of the fight with a torn adductor in his groin, and thus the bout was rescheduled for April 8th. During a recent appearance at the Daytona 500, Johnson spoke about the fight to MMAJunkie, as well as his prediction for how things will play out in this highly anticipated rematch:
After defeat of Jim Miller, Dustin Poirier has his eyes on two potential opponents
Tom Taylor - February 28, 2017
With plenty of judging controversy and a definite lack of finishes, UFC 208 went down as a pretty forgettable card. The card did, however, produce one memorable moment in a thrilling, back-and-forth battle between talented lightweights Dustin Poirier and Jim Miller. Despite sustaining a leg injury in the third round, Poirier ultimately won this action-packed fight by majority decision. With this win, the Louisiana native rebounded from a tough, knockout loss to lightweight contender Michael Johnson, and reaffirmed himself as one of the division’s gamest competitors.

Scott Coker: We're trying to see if we can fit Mike Goldberg into Bellator broadcast team
Tom Taylor - February 27, 2017
If you watched UFC 208 earlier this month, the broadcast probably sounded much different than you’re used to. That, of course, is because long time UFC play-by-play man Mike Goldberg was not a part of the broadcast team. Instead, the broadcast booth was filled by a three-man team of Joe Rogan, Jon Anik, and UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. Golberg was released by the UFC in late 2016. His last broadcast as a UFC employee was December’s UFC 207, after which he was sent packing with precisely zero thanks from the UFC, or acknowledgement for the decades of hard work he put in for the company.
