Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal will be fighting again, but this time it will be in boxing.

Diaz and Masvidal first fought at UFC 244 in November 2019 for the inaugural BMF belt and it was ‘Gamebred’ who won by doctor stoppage.

On Wednesday, the two revealed the news that they will be boxing each other on pay-per-view on June 1 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. The fight will take place at 175lbs.

The event will be carried on pay-per-view by Fanmio for $79.99, with an early price of $49.99 available until April 12.

Diaz and Masvidal were rumored to be boxing for quite some time and the fight is now official. It’s also an exciting time for Jorge Masvidal who wants to prove the first fight is no fluke.

“Nate’s a dead man walking,” Jorge Masvidal said in a statement about Nate Diaz. “I can’t wait to prove that last time was no fluke. He got saved by the referee. Now we are boxing, which he says is his forte, but he’s got no shot at beating me. I’m not going to give him an inch in that ring to even breathe. If he thought our MMA match was bad, this is going to be much worse. I’m going to drown him. I want to put away any talk that him and I are the same, or that the referee saved the day. All of that talk ends June 1. Violence and throwing hands are in both of our bloods but as I proved before, I’m a far superior athlete and I’m a meaner fighter. When June 1 comes I’ll put all unanswered questions to rest, live for the world to see.”

Nate Diaz is 0-1 in pro boxing as he dropped a decision to Jake Paul last August. Before going into boxing, Diaz was a fan-favorite in MMA and the UFC as he fought out his deal with a submission win over Tony Ferguson. Since the loss to Masvidal, he dropped a decision to Leon Edwards and then beat Ferguson.

Jorge Masvidal, meanwhile, is coming out of retirement for this boxing match against Nate Diaz. Masvidal retired following a decision loss to Gilbert Burns which was his fourth-straight defeat. Since beating Diaz, he has lost four straight fights.
