Nadaka to make first title defense against Songchainoi at ONE Samurai 1

ONE Samurai 1 keeps getting bigger. ONE Championship has announced that reigning ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Nadaka will make his first title defense against Thai contender Songchainoi Kiatsongrit at the inaugural edition of the new monthly Japan series on April 29 at Ariake Arena in Tokyo.
The 25-year-old Eiwa Sports Gym fighter owns a 66-6 career striking record and went a perfect 4-0 inside ONE to claim the inaugural belt. He dominated Numsurin Chor Ketwina across five rounds at ONE 173 last November, earning a unanimous decision that extended his winning streak to 40 fights.
A Rajadamnern Stadium, Lumpinee Stadium, WMC, and WBC Muay Thai World Champion before ever setting foot in ONE, Nadaka has collected nearly every title the sport has to offer.
Standing across from him is Songchainoi, who brings a 60-18 record and a 10-1 promotional slate into the challenge. The Kiatsongrit Muay Thai Gym fighter won five straight to earn his six-figure contract and extended that run to nine consecutive victories before falling to Numsurin at ONE Friday Fights 122. He rebounded with a dominant win over Salai Htan Khee Shein last October and arrives in Tokyo with a clear point to prove.
Shimon meets Ghazali in ONE Samurai 1 flyweight Muay Thai bout
Four more bouts round out the additions to ONE Samurai 1. In flyweight Muay Thai, Shimon Yoshinari, 21, takes on 19-year-old Malaysian-American sensation Johan “Jojo” Ghazali.
Shimon carries a 25-1 career record and is undefeated inside ONE. Ghazali, fighting out of Superbon Training Camp with a 27-9 record, has won back-to-back fights to rediscover the finishing power that made him a global name when he scored a 16-second knockout at just 16 years old.
In featherweight kickboxing, multi-time K-1 World Champion Hiromi Wajima meets Argentine powerhouse Ricardo Bravo. Wajima owns a 22-7 record with 18 knockouts and suffered a tough decision loss to Nabil Anane in his ONE debut. Bravo earned his contract through three finishes on the ONE Friday Fights circuit but has dropped two straight and needs a result.
Finally, promotional newcomer Toki Tamaru faces Toma Kuroda in all-Japanese atomweight kickboxing. Kuroda holds 15 career victories but has managed just one win in ONE and arrives under pressure to deliver.
