UFC London Results: Michael Page defeats Sam Patterson

Page (25-3 MMA) will be returning to the promotion‘s welterweight division following two straight wins at middleweight. ‘Venom’ was most previously seen in action this past August where he earned a unanimous decision win over Jared Cannonier.

Meanwhile, Sam Patterson (14-3-1 MMA) will enter today’s bout sporting a four-fight winning streak, with his latest victory coming over Trey Waters this past September via TKO. The Watford native has scored finishes in all four of his most recent wins, with two victories coming by way of submission.

Round one of this UFC London welterweight matchup begins and both men appear tentative to engage. The crowd is growing restless and we’re only 90 seconds into the fight. Both men are using a lot of movement, but neither is throwing strikes. The horn sounds after a full five minutes of pretty much nothing. Page landed 5 strikes to Patterson’s 3.

Round two begins and the low output from Michael Page and Sam Patterson continues in the early moments. The crowd is definitely not enjoying this currently. Patterson is throwing some single strikes. ‘Venom’ continues to utilize a lot of movement and feints, but he’s barely throwing anything. This looks more like a sparring match than anything. This has been a disaster in terms of action. Page with a couple of decent shots late. We head to the third and final round.

Round three of this welterweight matchup begins and we are back to more of the same. Michael Page is moving around and landing the odd shots. Sam Patterson tries to get inside late with a flurry, but nothing lands flush. What a bust of a fight.
