Michael Bisping: If you believe in Jesus, you can believe I’ll knock out Luke Rockhold

The MMA world was rather stunned when Michael Bisping revealed that his upcoming short notice fight against Luke Rockhold would actually be a trilogy fight, and not a rematch as many believed.

When Chris Weidman withdrew from UFC 199 earlier this week due to a neck injury, fans anxiously waited to find out whether Michael Bisping or Jacare Souza would be given the nod to fight for the middleweight championship on short notice.

Ultimately Bisping stepped in, and will now fight Rockhold on June 4th for the UFC middleweight championship. Ahead of the fight, he has an interesting way of suggesting his critics look at the fight.

He spoke on SiriusXM Rush:

“To be honest, I’m not a deep, spiritual person. Things have been happening in my life recently where I’ve started to think, ‘Maybe things do happen for a reason.’ I ways given this opportunity and I’m going to take it. I plan on going out there and winning, believe me.”

“Listen, I’ll put it like this. If people can walk around – and I don’t mean this in a disrespectful way to religious people – and you believe the son of God came down to earth 2,000 years ago, and he killed himself for our sins, and he can walk on water, and there’s a God up there looking after ourselves, and if you get on your knees and pray to him that things will change, if you can believe that, then you can believe that I can knock the f–k out of Luke Rockhold two weeks from Saturday.”
