Former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold has fired back at Anthony Smith, this after “Lionheart” suggested he would drill a hole in his head.
The recent light heavyweight title challenger, Smith, had gone off on Luke Rockhold during yesterday’s UFC Press Conference.
“F**k Luke Rockhold,” said Smith. “The first opportunity I get, I’m gonna drill a hole through Luke Rockhold’s f**king face. I promise you guys that. The first opportunity that I get. After this fight, it doesn’t matter what happens, I’ll fight Luke Rockhold with one f**king leg. I’m going to beat that dude’s f**king ass!”
Shortly after the conclusion of yesterday’s UFC Press Conference, TMZ Sports caught up with Luke Rockhold to get his take on Smith’s recent comments.
“I saw his interview and he obviously didn’t want to take this fight,” said Rockhold. “He wanted to take some time off. He could’ve done that. You could’ve stuck to your word because I would’ve been right here. It’s the first thing I asked the UFC after that fight. Make this thing (vs Smith) happen. Then, he b*tched out and ran their errands and went out to Stockholm.”
Rockhold, who has not stepped foot inside the octagon since suffering a knockout loss to Yoel Romero at UFC 221, doesn’t think much of “Lionheart” as a person or as an athlete.
“I don’t think much of Anthony Smith. I don’t think he’s very tough, technical, talented. He ain’t got what it takes. He’s not gonna be drilling nothing. I will own that kid from start to finish. Anywhere he wants to go, he’s not really on my radar. I’ma go do my thing [and] I’ll enjoy watching him get beat up in Stockholm”.
Luke’s Rockhold is set to meet Jan Blachowicz in a light heavyweight bout at UFC 239 this July in Las Vegas.
Meanwhile, Anthony Smith is set to square off with Alexander Gustafsson in the main event of UFC Stockholm this June in Sweden.
