UFC 242 set for September 7 in Abu Dhabi, Khabib Nurmagomedov expected to headline
The octagon will return to Abu Dhabi on September 7 for the promotions UFC 242 event and it is expected that Khabib Nurmagomedov will headline the card.
ESPN’s Brett Okamoto broke the news moments ago on Twitter.

The event will mark the UFC’s first in Abu Dhabi since UFC 112 in April of 2010.
That fight card was headlined by a middleweight championship fight which saw Anderson Silva retain his title by scoring a unanimous decision victory over Demian Maia.
This time around it is expected that current UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov will headline the September pay-per-view event with Dustin Poirier being the most logical opponent.
“The Diamond” recently captured the promotions interim lightweight title by defeating reigning featherweight champ Max Holloway via unanimous decision at UFC 236.
While a title unification bout with Dustin Poirier does seem like the most logical matchup for Nurmagomedov, a potential rematch with Conor McGregor is still an option for “The Eagle”.
The Irish superstar has been clamoring for a second fight with the undefeated Russian ever since losing to Khabib at UFC 229.
