UFC 324 Results: Jean Silva defeats Arnold Allen (Highlights)

Allen (20-4 MMA) most recently competed at UFC 304 in July of 2024, where he defeated Giga Chikadze by way of unanimous decision. That victory snapped a two-fight losing skid for ‘Almighty’, as the Brit had previously dropped decision setbacks to Movsar Evloev and Max Holloway respectively.

Meanwhile, Jean Silva (17-3 MMA) will enter tonight’s contest looking to rebound, this after suffering a TKO loss to Diego Lopes in his most recent effort last September. Prior to that setback, ‘Lord’ was riding a 12-fight winning streak, a stretch that included stoppage wins over Bryce Mitchell, Drew Dober and Charles Jourdain.

Round one of this UFC 324 featherweight contest begins and Jean Silva quickly takes the center of the cage. Arnold Allen with a low kick. ‘Lord’ leaps in with a straight punch that misses. Allen continues to circle and keep the distance. The Brit lands a low kick. Silva goes to the body with a right hand. ‘Almighty’ paws with his jab. Silva with a left hand over the top. Allen answers with a jab. He lands another. Jean Silva with a sneaky left hook. Allen swings and misses with a head kick attempt. Silva with a body kick. Allen replies with a right hand to the body. ‘Lord’ with a flurry but nothing connects flush. Arnold Allen with a jab and then a kick. Jean Silva is clearly looking to explode with something big, but Allen is doing a good job keeping range. A nice 1-2 from Silva. ‘Almighty’ answers with a jab and then a low kick. Another jab connects flush for the Ipswich native. Silva goes high with a kick, but it is blocked. Jean Silva with a hard body shot and then a left cross. A big flurry from Silva to close out the opening round. He had Allen stunned there.

Round two of this UFC 324 main card featherweight contest begins and Jean Silva throws a front kick that just misses the chin of his opponent. A hard lock kick from ‘Lord’ connects flush. Arnold Allen with a nice left up the middle. Silva with a low kick. He leaps in with a right and then scores a takedown. Allen pops right back up but eats a big shot in the process. The fighters clinch up and Silva lands an elbow on the break. A pair of jabs from ‘Almighty’. The Brazilian replies with an uppercut. Silva with a body shot. He follows that up with a low kick. Another nice jab in return by Allen. He leaps in with a flying knee. Jean Silva answers with a right hand up the middle. He lands another. The fighters clinch and Arnold Allen lands a good knee. A spinning elbow and then a big right from Silva. Now a good left from the Brazilian. Under 90 seconds remain in the round. Silva with three low kicks in a row. He lands a nice hook. Allen swings and misses with a head kick. A good right hand from Allen. Silva replies with a big combination. Allen with a head kick that partially connects. Silva forces the clinch. We head to round three.

The third and final round of this featherweight bout begins and Jean Silva comes out aggressively. He lands a high kick and then a straight punch up the middle. Another high kick partially connects for the Brazilian. He lands a good 1-2. Arnold Allen swings and misses with a high kick. A right hand from Silva partially connects. Allen forces the clinch. The crowd boos, but this is a good fight from both men. The fighters battle for position and finally break. Silva with an elbow and then a shot to the body. He jumps on a single leg for a second and then opts to push Allen against the cage. Jean Silva with a nice elbow. He drags Allen down to the floor. ‘Almighty’ pops right back to his feet. 90 seconds remain. A good body shot from Silva. Allen with a knee to the body in return. One minute remains in the fight. Arnold Allen with a front kick to the body and then an elbow. Silva misses with a right hand. He points to the canvas. Silva screams and unloads a head kick. He lands it and then another. Allen is down. Silva uses him as a trampoline. The horn sounds to end the fight.
