UFC legend Max Holloway has gone off on MMA journalist Ariel Helwani regarding recent comments regarding Jorge Masvidal.

At UFC 326, Max Holloway will go head to head with Charles Oliveira as he prepares to defend the BMF title. ‘Blessed’ has certainly made the title his own, knocking out Justin Gaethje to win it prior to successfully defending it against Dustin Poirier in his retirement fight. Now, he will hope to add to his already incredible legacy against Oliveira.

Recently, there’s been a bit of talk surrounding the BMF title, with Ariel Helwani opting to use quotes given to him by Holloway to try and create a story with former BMF champion Jorge Masvidal.

As you can see in the following exchange, Holloway wasn’t too pleased with Helwani’s work here.

Holloway blasts Helwani

Masvidal: ““I love Max as a fighter — that’s his opinion [the BMF title being a laughing stock]. I think he’s one of the best to ever do it. He’s a dog when he goes in there, but whether it had been me or Nate fighting Max, it wasn’t going to be his best night either.

“I would love to fight Max just as a stylistic matchup. I think he’s a great stand-up fighter — I just think I’m better. I don’t know what he means by ‘laughing stock.’””

Holloway: “I meant people was saying it was a ‘laughing stock’ and one of them people was you @arielhelwani. Stop trying to start s*** your 43 years old dude.”
