Georges St-Pierre hints at location of Michael Bisping fight?

bjpenndotcom - May 3, 2017

Former UFC welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre is currently gearing up for his 2017 return to the Octagon, which will see him challenge Michael Bisping for the UFC middleweight title after three years away from the Octagon. While the UFC announced earlier this year that a Bisping vs. St-Pierre fight will take place at some point this year, it has not been announced when St-Pierre and Bisping will fight for the title. This of course has led to Michael Bisping stating that if St-Pierre isn’t ready to fight this summer, he will take the title shot from the former welterweight champ and give it to the middleweight #1 contender, Yoel Romero.

At a to be determined date later this year, former UFC welterweight champion and veritable MMA legend Georges St-Pierre will return to the Octagon after several years of retirement. He will not, however, return to his former haunts in the welterweight division. Instead, he’ll be moving up to the middleweight division for an immediate – and controversial – title shot against reigning champion Michael Bisping. While we know that this fight is happening, Bisping, St-Pierre and the UFC have had a difficult time nailing down a date and location. Bisping has been very vocal in his desire to fight during International Fight Week, ideally at UFC 213 on July 8, but it’s looking more and more likely that this fight doesn’t occur until the fall.

Johny Hendricks wants to retire Georges St-Pierre "again"

bjpenndotcom - April 28, 2017

Back in 2013, UFC welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre stepped into the Octagon against Johny Hendricks for a highly anticipated showdown that served as his ninth title defense. The fight was an extremely close one, which saw the judges award St-Pierre with a split decision win, marking his ninth successful title defense. The decision was undoubtably a controversial one, and St-Pierre ultimately ended up vacating the belt and taking an indefinite hiatus from the UFC in the days following the fight.

Ahead of Michael Bisping fight, Georges St-Pierre says he's bigger than he's ever been

Tom Taylor - April 25, 2017

At a to be determined date later this year, former long-time UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre will make his much discussed return to the Octagon. He will not, however, be returning to his former haunts in the middleweight division. Instead, he’ll be moving up to middleweight where he’ll receive a somewhat controversial title shot against reigning champion Michael Bisping. When St-Pierre steps onto the canvas with Bisping, who used to fight at light heavyweight, he’s likely to surrender a fairly significant size disadvantage. To combat this, the former welterweight says he’s packed on some size – to the point that he’s bigger than he’s ever been. St-Pierre explained his physique change during a recent Q&A with sponsor Hayabusa. “I have always been the same weight,” he said (via BloodyElbow.com). “When I knew that we were going to fight Michael Bisping, when I signed the contract, that’s when I decided to put on a little more weight. I won’t be able to put a lot, because I’m a natural guy. But I’m already a little bit bigger than I was.”

After years away from the sport, former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre is soon expected to return to the UFC’s Octagon. Instead of returning to the welterweight division where he was once so dominant, however, the Canadian star will make his return at middleweight, where he will take on Michael Bisping for the divisional throne. This fight is expected to occur sometime later this year – though Bisping has suggested that he’ll give the title shot to somebody else if he gets tired of waiting.

Later this year, at a to-be-determined date, UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping will attempt to defend his title against the most unlikely of challengers – not Yoel Romero, not Robert Whittaker, not Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, but former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre. Though this fight is not yet scheduled – which is making Bisping increasingly ornery – the two fighters have not held back when it comes to trash talk. Even the typically reserved St-Pierre has hit Bisping with a few zingers.

Georges St-Pierre has master plan for comeback

bjpenndotcom - April 15, 2017

Former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre is currently set to return to the Octagon sometime this year when he will fight Michael Bisping for the welterweight strap. While the fight doesn’t have an official date at the present time, St-Pierre spoke to RT to discuss his return, as well as his master plan. St-Pierre’s return is a particularly interesting one given the fact that he is moving up to middleweight after his successful welterweight title run many years ago.

Former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre is currently gearing up for his highly anticipated Octagon return against Michael Bisping, where he will look to make his successful return to the Octagon and capture the UFC middleweight championship. During an episode of UFC Embedded prior to UFC 209, where Khabib Nurmagomedov was scheduled to fight Tony Ferguson for the interim lightweight title, St-Pierre introduced himself to Nurmagomedov, who revealed to fans that his father believes a superfight with Georges St-Pierre is the ultimate fight for ‘The Eagle’. Interestingly enough, St-Pierre posted a photo of himself at dinner with Nurmagomedov in Moscow while in town coaching one of his Tristar teammates in his upcoming MMA fight.

Although the UFC has yet to set an official date or event, Georges St-Pierre is scheduled to return to the Octagon after taking years off from competing in the UFC. The former UFC welterweight kingpin will be making his return going up a weight class to challenge UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping. Here we see a shirtless St-Pierre in the gym alongside Tristar teammate Yukinori Akazawa. St-Pierre has never competed in the UFC middleweight division but is looking to challenge the champion in Michael Bisping and make history by becoming the fourth fighter in UFC history to win two titles in two different UFC weight classes.

Dana White gives update on Michael Bisping vs. Georges St-Pierre

bjpenndotcom - April 8, 2017

Early in 2017, the UFC announced that former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre would be returning to the Octagon in 2017 to challenge UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping for the middleweight title. The promotion held a press conference with both men, where the pair exchanged barbs regarding their highly anticipated scrap. With that being said however, no information was given in regards to when the fight would take place. Michael Bisping then revealed that if St-Pierre was not prepared to fight in July, he would be taking away St-Pierre’s title shot and giving it to Yoel Romero:
