Fedor Emelianenko picked up one of the biggest wins of his storied mixed martial arts career at last night’s Bellator 198 event in Chicago.

“The Las Emperor” needed just 48-seconds to knockout former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir in last night’s event headliner.

The win served as Fedor’s sixth victory in his past seven fights and propelled the Russian star to the semifinals of Bellator’s Heavyweight Grand Prix tournament where he will now square off with Chael Sonnen.

“The American Gangster” was in attendance at last night’s Bellator event and decided to confront Fedor during Emelianenko’s post-fight interview.

“I think the only thing I hate more than being right here in Chicago is being in this ring with you,” Sonnen stated directing his insults towards Fedor. “And I assure you the next time I am, it will not be for long!”

During last night’s Bellator 198 post-fight press conference Fedor Emelianenko was asked to share his thoughts on his upcoming opponent Chael Sonnnen and his antics from earlier in the evening.

“To tell you the truth, I believe that Chael is a good person, because when we meet each other in some place or in the hotel, we actually communicate in a very good and friendly manner,” Emelianenko said (transcribed by MMAJunkie). “In public, definitely, his behavior is challening. I think that’s the way he attracts extra attention to his fights and his performances. Because I know him from an absolutely different side.”

Chael Sonnen advanced to the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix tournament semfinals by scoring a unanimous decision victory over Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
