UFC Stockholm | Pro fighters make their picks for Alexander Gustafsson vs. Anthony Smith

Alexander Gustafsson, UFC Stockholm

The Octagon returns to Stockholm, Sweden on Saturday with the fittingly titled UFC Stockholm card. The main event will be a battle of two top light heavyweights as Alexander Gustafsson will be looking to thwart Anthony Smith on home soil.

Ahead of the fight, BJPENN.com reached out to several pro fighters to get their predictions for the scrap. The majority believe the home crowd will play a factor and Gustafsson will win.

Here’s what they had to say:

BJPENN.com Fighter Picks: Alexander Gustafsson vs. Anthony Smith

Jared Cannonier, UFC middleweight: That is a tough one, man. I think Gus will get that one, I think he has better striking than Smith. Gus in Sweden will get that win, not sure how he does it.

Jeremy Kennedy, PFL featherweight: I’ll take Gustafsson. I think he is a more technical striker and will be able to get it done.

Norman Parke, KSW welterweight: I have to go with Gustafsson, he is fighting at home. I think he will win for sure.

Renato Moicano, UFC featherweight: I think Gustafsson is more well rounded. He will be fighting at home and win in front of the home crowd.

Zak Cummings, UFC middleweight: That will be a good fight. Alexander Gustafsson is tough for anybody. But, I’m picking Anthony and I think he wins by knockout. Not sure what round though.

Tonya Evinger, UFC bantamweight: I think Gustafsson will win.

Volkan Oezdemir, UFC light heavyweight: I see Gustafsson taking the win. He really has a laser jab and keeps constant pressure. He is a true fighter and is going to go at it and stay strong in the later rounds. I think he will stay calm and that is how he will get the win.
