“We’ve got the big guy coming on Saturday, too,” White said. “Yeah, he’s coming.”

It’s a little surprising that Trump is attending a UFC card in the middle of his devastating war with Iran. However, it’s generally no surprise to see him pop up cage-side. The US president has a longstanding friendship with White, and has attended many UFC events in recent years. White also vouched for Trump before both of his elections. So did UFC fighters like Colby Covington, Henry Cejudo, Justin Gaethje, and Michael Chandler.

Of course, the pinnacle of the relationship between Trump and the the MMA promotion will undoubtedly be the upcoming UFC Freedom 250 card. That one will go down on the White House lawn on June 14 — the president’s birthday. The event will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between undisputed champ Ilia Topuria and interim champ Justin Gaethje. In the co-main event, former light heavyweight and middleweight champ Alex Pereira will fight Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight title.

This Saturday’s UFC 327 card in Miami will see Jiri Prochazka take on Carlos Ulberg for the light heavyweight title. Pereira vacated for his move to heavyweight at the White House. In the co-main event, former middleweight contender Paulo Costa will take on top light heavyweight contender Azamat Murzakanov.
