A welterweight fight is going down in Brazil on February 2.

Demian Maia

Following an initial report from Combate, has confirmed that Brazilian Demian Maia will be taking on former Bellator champion Lyman Good.

Demian Maia is currently on a three-fight losing streak, suffering setbacks to Tyron Woodley, Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman in that time. Maia is currently ranked eighth in the welterweight division and will be the first top-10 opponent Good faces inside the UFC.

Lyman Good is coming off of stellar performance at UFC 230 in which he knocked out Ben Saunders in the first round. Good has been asking for a top contender ever since joining the UFC ranks. The New York native has earned welterweight titles in both the CFFC and Bellator.

The 33-year-old also puts on a show for the fans. In his second UFC fight, Good took on Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos in a scrap which produced fight of the night honors.

Meanwhile, the source tell that the fight has been in the works ever since Good defeated Saunders, and after weeks of trying, the two fighters finally agreed to the fight.

The fight is an important one for both fighters. Demian Maia, as mentioned, is on a three-fight losing streak and needs to get back into the win column to have any shot at making his way back up the rankings. Meanwhile, Good will have a chance to show the UFC and its fans why he believes he is the best welterweight in the division. It all starts by going to Brazil and fighting in hostile territory.

It should be a great fight and both fighters need wins to prove they are top contenders in the division.

Who do you think will emerge victorious when Demian Maia and Lyman Good square off on February 2 in Brazil.
