By Chris Taylor - January 16, 2013

UFC officials announced Tuesday that a welterweight clash between Dan Hardy (25-10 MMA, 6-4 UFC) and Matt Brown (16-11 MMA, 6-5 UFC) has been added to the UFC on FOX 7 card set for April 20th in San Jose.

Hardy has won back-to-back fights, his latest being a decision win over Amir Sadollah at UFC on FUEL TV 5 in his hometown of Nottingham, England. Prior to that, Hardy snapped a four fight losing skid by knocking out Duane Ludwig at UFC 146, which earned him “Knockout of the night” honours.

Brown has won four straight and five of his past six fights overall. This past December, Brown starched Mike Swick with a second-round knockout at UFC on FOX 5 in Seattle. During his current win streak, Brown has compiled to second-round TKO victories over Chris Cope and Luis Ramos, as well as beating up Stephen “Wonder Boy” Thompson for three rounds.

UFC on FOX 7 is headlined by a lightweight title fight between UFC champion Benson Henderson and Strikeforce’s final lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez. The card also features a heavyweight fight between former UFC champ Frank Mir and Strikeforce heavyweight grand prix champion Daniel Cormier.

UFC on FOX 7 is set to take place on April 20 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. The main card will be broadcast on FOX following the prelims which are expected to air on FX and Facebook.
