The Conor McGregor and UFC 200 story continues on after “The Notorious” tweeted late Sunday that he was back on UFC 200. Monday came around and Dana White denied McGregor’s claim and stated that he has not been put back on the marquee card. McGregor was spotted getting on a plane, likely leaving Iceland where he has been training with his team. McGregor’s longtime coach John Kavanagh spoke on the MMA Hour on Monday and acknowledged that they were no longer all training in Iceland.

Conor McGregor once again shocked the MMA community late on Sunday when he tweeted that he was back on UFC 200. However, the saga of Conor McGregor and UFC 200 continued on Monday after UFC President Dana White said that “The Notorious” was still off the UFC 200 card.

The MMA world was left in complete shock earlier this week when current UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor tweeted that he had decided to “retire young” and was done with fighting. Shortly after that, the UFC announced that they had pulled “Mystic Mac” from his scheduled UFC 200 rematch with Nate Diaz which was expected to headline UFC 200 this July in Las Vegas.

While Diaz’s new opponent wasn’t announced, UFC President Dana White did explain that the door was now closed for McGregor to fight at UFC 200. White explained that there were fighters at the press conference who flew in from all over the world, and it wasn’t fair for McGregor to skip the event.

McGregor released a statement on Thursday announcing that he isn’t retired, and explaining that he was still prepared to fight at UFC 200, but wouldn’t interrupt his training for a UFC 200 media tour.
