Although highly unlikely, a potential boxing match between McGregor and famed prizefighter Floyd Mayweather has been rumored for several weeks now, with Mayweather even going as far as to predict that the fight will “absolutely” happen. While Mayweather has praised McGregor’s striking skills, the fight would undoubtably be the toughest test of McGregor’s combat sports career.

While Floyd Mayweather is currently retired from boxing, and UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor was recently pulled from his UFC 200 welterweight rematch with Nate Diaz, the two men have managed to keep their names in the headlines despite UFC 198 coming up on Saturday. There have been conflicting reports for some time now regarding a potential boxing match between the two, despite the fact that McGregor is an MMA fighter. While many didn’t believe that the match would ever be treated as a possibility, UFC President Dana White stated that Mayweather should call him if he wants to fight Conor McGregor.
