It’s looking more and more likely that 41-year-old retired boxing legend Floyd Mayweather will step into the Octagon in the near future – though most of us still have understandable doubts that it will actually happen. If Mayweather does step into the cage, of course, he’ll be discounted against pretty much any opponent he fights. That is likely to be particularly true if he battles his arch rival Conor McGregor, who he defeated in the boxing ring back in August of 2017.
As talk of Mayweather’s move to MMA continue to louden, sportsbook Westgate Las Vegas has released odds for a potential MMA showdown between the boxer and the MMA star. As expected, McGregor is considered a massive favorite, while Mayweather has been pegged as a significant underdog.
Odds for a potential Mayweather-McGregor MMA fight are now officially out at Westgate.
Fight needs to happen by 9/1/19. Limits are 2K.

This line has McGregor sitting at -1000, which means a successful $1000 bet on the Irishman would earn you just $100.
Mayweather, meanwhile, has been identified as a +650 underdog, which means a successful $100 bet on him would earn you $650.
Neither McGregor nor Mayweather has fought since their August boxing match, though both men have done an excellent job of staying in the headlines since then. This can be largely attributed to talk about their potential MMA rematch.
“I’ll probably need a little bit longer [than three months],” Mayweather told TMZ of his potential move to MMA. “A little bit longer. Even if it takes six to eight months, whatever it takes, we just want to make sure everything is done correctly, and everything is done the right way.”
“I can wrestle,” he added, boasting about his preexisting MMA skill. “My wrestling game is not that bad. On a scale from one to 10, I would say it’s probably a seven. We can take it up to a nine, if possible. Of course my hand game, on a scale of one to 10, it’s 100. The kicking game, on a scale from one to 10, it’s probably a four. We have to tweak a few things to take things to the next level.”
How do you think an MMA rematch between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather would go?
