Conor McGregor blasts Floyd Mayweather for calling him a racist

What could be the biggest fight in combat sports history will take place in exactly two weeks as current UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor will take his talents to the boxing ring where he will square off with undefeated legend Floyd Mayweather.

The super fight, which takes place August 26 live from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, has had no shortage of hype since being announced.

Last month, Mayweather and McGregor embarked on a four-stop promotional world tour which showcased both fighters ability to talk trash.

“Money” and “Mystic Mac” traded a variety of insults back and forth while on stage, much to the delight of the thousands of fans in attendance.

Most recently, Floyd Mayweather took things to another level by announcing that he was fighting for a “cause” in his bout with McGregor.

“I just thought about all our different leaders,” stated Mayweather. “Martin Luther King, Malcolm X. They went on the front line for me and my family and all my loved ones. Like I said before, this stuff (racism) still goes on, (this fight) is no different. But this is for a cause. This is for the American people. This is for all the blacks around the world.”

Mayweather referenced that Conor had used racial slurs with the phrase “monkey” during their promotional world tour in July.

“Mystic Mac” was not at all happy about those accusations from Floyd and responded aggressively in an interview with ESPN.

“He knows there is no racism from me,” McGregor stated. “His father knows, Ellerbe knows. Just ask these people. He said I labeled him a monkey. I have never once labeled him or any other African-American a monkey and it f*cking annoys me that he’s bring this type of stuff up.”

McGregor continued:

“Like I said, if I was to label him as any animal then it would be a rat or a weasel! That’s a rat and a weasel move, trying to manipulate someone’s words and try to create something that’s not even there when it is such a sensitive subject. He’s a man who beats his wife in front of his kids. He is the dirt of dirt. So to even bring that up and engage in that, that shows me your true colors.”
