Colby Covington reveals his future plans in the UFC’s welterweight division

UFC star Colby Covington has given fans an insight into what he may have planned next in his mixed martial arts career.

At UFC 296, Colby Covington suffered a pretty humbling loss to Leon Edwards. He was beaten in pretty much every department, failing to make any real impact on ‘Rocky’ throughout the bout.

Ever since then, fans have been wondering what could be next for the former interim champion. He’s still a big name in the division, and he’s also a notable face in the mainstream.

Now, we have some answers. In a recent interview with Submission Radio, Covington listed a few fighters he’d be interested in battling.

Covington’s big plan

“Whatever the UFC deems necessary,” Covington said. “There’s a lot of options. We got Gilbert coming up, that fat lesbian, just like Conor said. He’s coming up in March. If he beats that other kid that he’s fighting, whatever the scrub’s name is, then that’s a possibility.

“I think ‘Wonderboy,’ guys, makes the most sense. The ultimate nice guy vs. the ultimate bad guy. He came on this show, Submission Radio, and had a lot of things to say. ‘Oh, Colby’s going to get knocked out, oh, I’ll knock out Colby.’ Oh, all these things. He’s No. 6 in the world, I’m No. 5 in the world right now. That fight makes the most sense.”
