Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones was recently handed out a fifteen-month suspension from USADA.

That punishment stemmed from Jon Jones failed drug test at UFC 214.

With his suspension being retroactive to July of last year, Jon Jones is now eligible to return and compete in the UFC as early as October 28, 2018.

While Jon Jones is very excited to make his octagon return, he is also treading very carefully. According to “Bones” coach Mike Winklejohn, the former champ has expressed concerns while eating out that a waiter could potentially taint his food with banned substances.

“Well, I think [USADA] should have made a deal a long time ago. There’s no doubt something got in there somehow, but it’s scary now. Jon’s even scared to eat out, he’s scared to be anywhere. He’s like, gosh, what if that waiter doesn’t like me, the bus boy doesn’t like me? You know? Who knows what’s going to happen out there. And it is kind of scary that way if you think about it.” – Mike Winklejohn via Submission Radio

When current UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington, who also used to be a roommate of Jon Jones, caught word of “Bones” apparent fear of eating out he promptly blasted the former light heavyweight kingpin on Twitter with the following message.

“@jonnybones Yeah Jon. Applebee’s keeps steroids and cocaine on site to sprinkle in your soup de jour. You’re such a fucking assclown.” – Colby Covington

Jon Jones is expected to return to the octagon this year, possibly at December’s UFC 232 event in a rematch with Alexander Gustaffson.
