Phil Brooks, who is better known as CM Punk will make his highly anticipated professional mixed martial arts debut at UFC 203 in Cleveland, Ohio.

The former WWE superstar will get his first taste of real mixed martial arts competition as he takes on 2-0 Mickey Gall on September 10.

CM Punk spoke with Brian Stann during the UFC on FOX 21 broadcast and is confident for his debut coming in less than two weeks.

“Well, I think overall I’m the kind of guy that’s never going to be happy because I’m always striving to be better than I am,” Punk told Stann. “I think that’s why I love MMA so much. For a first fight, I think I’m definitely where I need to be and I’m satisfied with my skill level and everything.”

With CM Punk having already performed in front of the masses in the WWE, Stann asked what his thoughts were on jitters going into the Octagon for the first time.

“I think I’ll have nerves because I’m about to fight, but I don’t think it will have anything to do with the capacity of the crowd, or cameras, or bright lights or people booing or cheering or anything like that,” Punk said. “My jitters will strictly be, ‘I’m fighting, what exactly am I doing with my life right now?’ I’m sure that will come and go.”

The oddsmakers have CM Punk as a big underdog. How do you think CM Punk will do in his debut? Share your thoughts with us in the comment section!
