Chael Sonnen: “I’m on a legends ass-whipping tour starting with Tito Ortiz!”

Chael Sonnen describes his newly signed Bellator contract as a “legends ass-whipping” tour, starting with Tito Ortiz according to Sonnen himself.

‘The American Gangster’ discussed his role in Bellator and threw out some names he’d like to welcome onto this ass-whipping tour during Monday’s edition of the MMA Hour:

“I am on a legends ass-whipping tour starting with Tito Ortiz. This couldn’t be more of an articulate call out. If Tito doesn’t accept, I won’t bully him. But for now, ‘The Bad Boy’ vs ‘The Bad Guy’ is on course for November 19.”

“Why Tito? He was a world champ! I trained at Team Quest where there was no less than two champions on our team every day. I knew exactly where I stood in the MMA world. I remember I was jealous, I felt I was tougher than Tito but he was on all the UFC posters and promos, he had his own clothing company, and I didn’t get that opportunity back then. That’s why I want to fight Tito now.”

Sonnen also mentioned Quentin ‘Rampage’ Jackson, Rory MacDonald as well as long-time adversary Wanderlei Silva as potential matchups on this ‘legends ass-whipping tour.’ The former UFC middleweight and light heavyweight contender also mentioned he was open to a heavyweight fight with PRIDE legend Fedor Emelianenko as well.

But as for his debut fight in Bellator, Sonnen has his sights set on Tito Ortiz, and although the contract hasn’t been signed yet, Sonnen believes if ‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy’ agrees to the fight, he will show up.

“When Tito signs on for a fight, he shows up. He may make excuses after the fight, but I can’t remember a time when he didn’t show up.”
