Betting Odds: Fedor Emelianenko vs. Chael Sonnen

Former PRIDE heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko (37-5 MMA) will square off with former UFC title challenger Chael Sonnen (30-15-1 MMA) in semi finals of Bellator’s Heavyweight Grand Prix event.

“The Last Emperor” has opened as the early favorite against “The American Gangster” according to the always reliable Jed Goodman.

Fedor was pegged as the -200 favorite for his highly anticipated showdown with Sonnen, while Chael is listed as a +
150 underdog.

Fedor Emelianenko returned to action at last weekend’s Bellator 198 event where he scored a first-round knockout victory over former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir.

Fedor has now won six of his past seven fights, his lone loss in that time coming at the hands of Matt Mitrione.

During his current 6-1 streak, Emelianenko has scored wins over notable veterans Jeff Monson, Pedro Rizzo, Fabio Maldonado and the aforementioned Frank Mir.

As for Sonnen, “The American Gangster” was last seen in action at January’s Bellator 192 event in Inglewood, where he scored a unanimous decision victory over former UFC light heavyweight title holder Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.

Prior to defeating “Rampage”, Chael was coming off a unanimous decision victory over bitter rival Wanderlei Silva at Bellator 180 in June of 2017.
