UFC 298 | Pro fighters make their picks for Alexander Volkanovski vs Ilia Topuria title fight

In the main event of UFC 298, the featherweight title is up for grabs as Alexander Volkanovski looks to defend his belt when he takes on Ilia Topuria. Heading into the fight Volkanovski is a slight -128 favorite while the challenger is a +100 underdog on FanDuel.

Ahead of the scrap, BJPENN.com reached out to several pro fighters to make their picks for the title fight at UFC 298. Although Volkanovski is coming off the KO loss at lightweight, but despite the loss and the close odds, the pros are actually unanimous in thinking the Aussie remains the featherweight king on Saturday in Anaheim.

Geoff Neal, UFC welterweight: I’m going with Volkanovski.

Kyler Phillips, UFC bantamweight: That is a hard fight to call. Ilia’s striking is technically sound, he has that flowy style, but I’ll lean towards Volkanovski but I’m truly torn on it.

Jim Miller, UFC lightweight: I like that fight, it is a tough one but I will lean towards Volkanovski.

Marcus McGhee, UFC bantamweight: I just can’t bet against Volkanovski at featherweight. I don’t think Ilia will be able to land the big shots, which is his path to victory. Volkanovski is so hard to hit and I think he will remind everyone why he’s the best featherweight ever.

Max Griffin, UFC welterweight: I like Volkanovski but Ilia is a stud, I’ll say Volk though.

Devin Clark, UFC light heavyweight: I like Volkanovski to retain the belt. It’s Volk, it’s hard to go against him at featherweight.

Chris Duncan, UFC lightweight: Volkanovski by decision. I think it’s too soon for Topuria.

Chad Anheliger, UFC bantamweight: That is a great fight, but I always have to go with Volkanovski, I’m such a fan of his.
