Ahead of his return at UFC 300 in April, Alex Pereira is getting in some work with Polyana Viana.

‘Poatan’ recently signed a deal to face Jamahal Hill at the milestone event in just two months. Alex Pereira famously won the title that ‘Sweet Dreams’ never lost in November, with a knockout win over Jiri Prochazka. For his part, Hill has been out of action since a unanimous decision win over Glover Teixeira last January.

As of now, the Brazilian is in fight camp. Throughout his career, Alex Pereira has been willing to train with just about anyone. The likes of Dillon Danis and Sean Strickland have trained with the champion, and released videos to social media. Recently, Pereira even showed interest in training with former rival, Israel Adesanya.

In the meantime, he’s seemingly found another training partner in the form of Polyana Viana. A Brazilian UFC fighter in her own right, the strawweight contender was seen training with Alex Pereira on social media. Taking to Instagram Stories, the UFC light-heavyweight champion released footage of himself rolling with Viana.

However, they weren’t on the mats. Instead, the two were rolling on the champion’s kitchen floor, with Polyana Viana seemingly getting the win by triangle choke. The video itself was done in gest, with the tagline that “the loser washes the dishes”. In the next clip on Alex Pereira’s Instagram story, he was the one doing exactly that.

UFC light-heavyweight champion Alex Pereira grapples with Polyana Viana

While Alex Pereria recently signed a deal to return at UFC 300 in April, Polyana Viana is currently without a return date. As of now, ‘Iron Lady’ is riding a two-fight losing streak, last suffering a loss to Gillian Robertson in January. Prior to that stoppage defeat, Viana suffered a submission loss to Iasmin Lucindo.

However, this video will likely just continue to raise Alex Pereira’s star power even more. In his brief UFC run thus far, he’s become a fan favorite for a multitude of reasons. While he’s exciting in the cage, his personality has shown on social media in the last year or so. For such a stoic man, Pereira does occasionally have fun, as shown in the video with Polyana Viana.

What do you make of this fight news involving Polyana Viana? Are you excited for Alex Pereira’s return at UFC 300 in April? Do you believe ‘Poatan’ will defeat Jamahal Hill?
