Alex Pereira is headed up to the UFC heavyweight division, and he’s starting to look the part.

Pereira, a former Glory kickboxing standout, has previously held the UFC middleweight and light heavyweight titles. On June 14, when the UFC touches down on the White House lawn, he will make a bid for the interim heavyweight title opposite hulking Frenchman Ciryl Gane. If he wins, he’ll be the first fighter in UFC history to capture championships in three divisions.

As the White House card draws closer, Pereira is definitely bulking up, which makes sense, given Gane’s immense physical tools. On Thursday, the Brazilian striker took to social media with an update on his weight, and a look at his heavyweight physique.

At just under 250 pounds, the former light heavyweight and middleweight champ is definitely looking a little different.

Pereira last fought in the fall, when he knocked out Magomed Ankalaev to reclaim the UFC light heavyweight title. He had lost the title to Ankalaev via decision in his next most recent fight. Prior to that, he was riding successful title defenses against dangerous light heavyweights in Khalil Rountree Jr., Jamahal Hill, and Jiri Prochazka. He claimed the title with a knockout of Prochazka in 2023, and has also defeated former champ Jan Blachowicz in the division. As a middleweight, he defeated the likes of Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland.

Gane most recently fought late last year, when he battled undisputed heavyweight champ Tom Aspinall. Unfortunately, the fight had a premature end after Gane hit Aspinall with several brutal eye pokes. Aspinall is still recovering from the resulting injuries, hence the UFC’s decision to introduce an interim heavyweight belt at the White House. Highlights of his recent resume include wins over Alexander Volkov, Derrick Lewis, Serghei Spivac, and Tai Tuivasa.
