Just over a month out from his return to the boxing ring, Ryan Garcia is in a bit of a bad place.

‘KingRy’ recently signed a deal to return to the boxing ring in New York on April 20th. There, Ryan Garcia will face his longtime rival, Devin Haney. ‘The Dream’ faced the former interim lightweight champion in the amateurs on six occasions. The two boxers split the series at 3-3 and will get to settle the feud as pros.

Well, that’s the hope anyway. Over the last few weeks, boxing fans have been concerned that Ryan Garcia won’t make it to fight day. On social media, the boxer has been erratic, and publically stated that he’s drinking and getting high ahead of his return. Although, Garcia later clarified that he’s only smoking weed, and not doing cocaine.

However, over the weekend, things took a turn for the worse. Ryan Garcia’s social media was littered with posts, proclaiming that the boxer was dead. Other posts with ‘666’ were plastered on his X account, leading to many fans becoming concerned. There were then a few days of radio silence from Garcia.

However, Ryan Garcia has now uploaded a video to social media explaining the situation. Well, kind of. In a brief video posted online, the boxer has confirmed that he’s 100% fine, and healthy. However, Garcia also added that unknown individuals took his phone and cards away from him, for his own sake.

Ryan Garcia offers concerned fans an update ahead of his return to the boxing ring

“Hey guys, it’s me Ryan. I’m coming on here to explain what’s going on.” Ryan Garcia stated in a new video uploaded to social media earlier today. “I’m not in possession of my phone, I can’t get access to my Instagram. My cards are locked and I’m just being really taken advantage [of]. I just personally want to send out a video to the people who love me.”

He continued, “Fans, family that’s concerned, that I’m okay. I’m not dead, I believe in Jesus, all that is lies. They tried to put me in jail, they blocked my cards, I can’t access my money. Nobody’s hitting me back, I don’t know what’s going on. But, just know I’m okay, love you.”

As of now, Oscar De La Hoya, and other close advisors to Ryan Garcia haven’t commented on the video’s release. However, his ex-wife Andrea Celina, stated that the boxer “wasn’t fine” in a brief message posted to social media earlier today.
