Patrick Cote responds to booked opponent Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone wanting to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov

By Russell Ess - April 6, 2016

UFC veterans Patrick Cote and Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone are set to headline UFC Fight Night 89 in Ontario, Canada on June 18th.

However, when news broke that Tony Ferguson had to pull out of his April 16th main event bout against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC on FOX 19, Cerrone offered to step in as a short-notice opponent.

With the Cote vs. Cerrone fight already booked, Cote responded in the most awesome way to hearing about “Cowboy” wanting to get in the Octagon before their date in June.

Cote tweeted, “People: hey you saw Cerrone want in vs Khabib ??
Me : I’m not surprise motherf*ckers !!”

Although the UFC has yet to announce any official news of a replacement for Nurmagomedov, Cerrone is reported to be the first option.
