Nearly a decade ago, Melvin Guillard was widely believed to be one of the most dominant and destructive lightweights on the planet. Unfortunately for Guillard, after being released by the UFC in 2014, Guillard’s career took a very drastic turn.
Since his release, Guillard has fought in several high-profile promotions, including Bellator MMA and the World Series of Fighting. Unfortunately however, he has also gone just 1-6-1 over the past three years. In his most recent fight, Guillard fought Israel Adesanya at Australian Fighting Championship 20 for the interim middleweight title, where he was TKOd in the very first round.
