Showboating is nothing new in the world of combat sports. We see it all the time in MMA. Middleweight great Anderson Silva, for example, frequently taunted his foes mid-fight – often to a ridiculous extent. Silva also found himself on the receiving end of some serious taunting in his 2015 fight with Nick Diaz. Then there are the in-cage taunts and antics of fighters like Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz, and Michael “Venom” Page. The list goes on and on…
Yet in a 2015 bout, Thai boxer turned Western boxer Dennapa Bigshotcamp took in-cage antics to a new and absolutely ridiculous level – and ultimately paid for his actions.
Bigshotchamp’s strange antics began when he literally fell over the ropes to enter the ring. Once the bout began, his strange actions continued, as he danced on the spot, wound up his punches, fake muay thai knees, and willingly ate his foe’s punches for show. Eventually, he paid for his cockiness when he put down by a crackling two-punch combo. This, however, is not where the madness ended.
After being dropped by this punch, Bigshotcamp began to do pushups on the canvas – right until the very last seconds of the referee’s 10-count. In doing so, he actually failed to regain his footing by the time the referee’s count ended, and lost the fight as a result. You can’t make this stuff up!
See Bigshotcamp’s exceptionally bizarre, antics-ridden loss in the video at the top of this post.
What do you think of Bigshotcamp’s weird 2015 loss in the boxing ring?
