UFC Pays Anthony Birchak And Scott Jorgensen Show And Win Money, Barao Earns $0.00

By BJPENN.COM News - August 31, 2014

The UFC decided to pay Anthony Birchak and Scott Jorgensen their show and win money for UFC 177, despite neither fighter fighting.

Birchak was supposed to fight Joe Soto on the card, however after Renan Barao withdrew from his rematch against TJ Dillashaw, the UFC moved Soto up to the main event, leaving Birchak without an opponent.

Jorgensen on the other hand was scheduled to fight gold medal Olympian Henry Cejudo, who didn’t complete his weight cut after reportedly experiencing nausea and cramping, as a result the bout was scrapped.

Renan Barao on the other hand was left empty handed, as was Henry Cejudo.

“Barao’s not making any money. I’m not paying Barao. Barao showed up and didn’t fight, (and) the other kid (Cejudo) that didn’t make weight. The other kids will get paid.”
