On June 14, in the main event of the much discussed UFC White House card, Ilia Topuria will attempt to defend the lightweight title against Justin Gaethje. At least, that’s the plan. While everybody is hoping that the Topuria vs. Gaethje fight goes ahead, injuries happen in MMA. There is a small chance one of the two could be ruled out of the fight before they make it to the Octagon. If that’s what happens, top lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan will be ready to step in as a replacement. News of Tsarukyan’s backup role was announced by UFC CEO Dana White this week. The news was well-received by fight fans, as Topuria vs. Tsarukyan is arguably a much better fight than Topuria vs. Gaethje. That’s partly because of their immense skill, but also because of the fierce rivalry between them. They really don’t seem to like each other.

Is Sean Strickland going to beat Khamzat Chimaev in the UFC 328 main event? Suddenly, a far greater number of fans seem to believe it’s possible. Chimaev is the reigning UFC middleweight champion. He is a big favorite to beat the former champ Strickland ahead of Saturday’s UFC 328 card in New Jersey, but the money line is likely to see some last minute movement after the card’s weigh-ins on Friday.

Dana White believes the UFC has made nearly every major fight than the fans wanted to see. Unfortunately, it seems that fight fans are in almost unanimous disagreement about that. White made this bold claim during an appearance on WFAN Sports Radio this week, where he was asked if there are any fights he regrets not making.

Dillon Danis will not be allowed to attend UFC 328 this weekend. As it turns out, he’s not the only notable fighter who is barred from the event. UFC 328 goes down in Newark, New Jersey, on Saturday. The main event will see undefeated middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev take on former champ Sean Strickland. It is one of the most intense grudge matches we’ve seen in years, and security personnel will have their hands full with the two headliners, as well as their teams. Evidently, they do not want any other agitators gaining access to the event and making their jobs more difficult.
