The final non-title bout of the UFC 232 main card occurred in the welterweight division, where former interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit looked to rebound from a string of losses opposite Michael Chiesa, who was making his debut in the welterweight division after a long run in the lightweight division. Early in this riveting welterweight style matchup, it looked like the surprisingly hulking Michael Chiesa would be able to give Carlos Condit all kinds of problems with his wrestling. As the round wore down, however, Condit was able to threaten with a very tight armbar off his back, and then with a heel hook.

On Saturday night, on the main card of the relocated UFC 232 card in Los Angeles, California, Corey Anderson and Ilir Latifi collided in what was widely regarded as a number-one contender fight in the exciting UFC light heavyweight division. The winner, it was believed, would be well positioned for a fight with the winner of Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson’s UFC 232 main event title fight. The first round of this fight was admittedly a bit slow. Latifi seemed to land the hard shots, including a few nasty calf kicks, but Anderson had some success with his jab and his kicks.

The main card of UFC 232, which went down on Saturday night inside The Forum in the Inglewood, California, was kicked off by a high-stakes featherweight showdown between three-time title challenger Chad Mendes, and surging Australian contender Alexander Volkanovski. The pair collided in hopes of establishing themselves as one of the next men in line for UFC featherweight king Max Holloway. To remind, this was a fight Volkanovski actually asked for after defeating Darren Elkins at UFC Boise earlier this year. It was an action-packed scrap while it lasted.

UFC women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg faces a tough task in the co-main event of Saturday night’s UFC 232 card, as she is scheduled to defend her title opposite reigning UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes. While the challenge ahead cannot be understated, Cris Cyborg at least has the support of many of her fellow fighters, and at least one Hollywood star.

On the undercard of UFC 232, long-time UFC middleweight contender Uriah Hall was tasked with welcoming ferocious middleweight prospect Bevon Lewis to the Octagon. This fight did not begin well for Uriah Hall. In fact, the Ultimate Fighter veteran was probably down two rounds heading into the third. Thanks to a blistering, third-round punch, however, it didn’t matter.

UFC 232 is now underway — but not in Las Vegas, as initially planned. Instead, the card goes down inside The Forum, in Inglewood, California, outside Los Angeles. That’s because the UFC moved the card, in its entirety, from one city to the other, after the Nevada State Athletic Commission refused to license former UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones for his main event title fight with Alexander Gustafsson. This unprecedented move, which occurred on just six days’ notice, caused massive headaches for fighters and fans alike — but UFC President Dana White says that “means nothing” to him. “When I pull the trigger, man, we roll,” Dana White told MMAjunkie of the controversial decision to move UFC 232 from Las Vegas to LA. “I don’t ever go, ‘We made the wrong decision.’ I don’t listen to criticism. Other people’s opinions mean nothing to me. I make decisions, and we roll. That’s it.”
