A lightweight bout between Leonardo Santos and Stevie Ray took place on the prelims of today’s UFC Stockholm event in Sweden. Leonardo Santos (16-3-1 MMA) will return to action for the first time since UFC 204 in October of 2016. The former TUF Brazil winner, Santos, has gone 10-0-1 over his past eleven contests which includes a TKO victory over Kevin Lee.

Middleweights Derek Brunson and Ian Heinisch will meet at UFC 241, which takes place August 17 at Honda Center in Anahein, California. From the sounds of it, former UFC welterweight and middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre could be the next mixed martial arts star to make the jump to pro wrestling — although perhaps only on a one-off basis. St-Pierre claims WWE approached him at the ESPN awards, and that he directed them to contact his management. Based on his comments, it seems like some kind of deal could potentially be reached with the pro wrestling institution, although the Canadian legend clarified that he is not interested in a full-time wrestling career.

Colby Covington hasn’t fought since UFC 225 back in June of 2018. Since then, he has had nasal surgery and a fairly public dispute with Dana White and the UFC — both of which have slowed down his return. Having been on the bench for close to a year, Covington isn’t happy with what he has seen. He believes UFC fans have been robbed, as the promotion’s champions aren’t fighting regularly. But he assures that once he becomes champion, he will fight anyone the UFC offers.

All fighters scheduled for UFC Stockholm have made weight. The card is scheduled for tomorrow in Stockholm, Sweden and is headlined by Sweden’s own Alexander Gustafsson (18-5) vs Anthony Smith (31-14). Gustafsson was the first to be weighed and came in at 205 pounds. The former middleweight Smith hit the scales at 206 but made weight comfortably as he was still wearing shorts and socks. Both fighters are coming off a loss to light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, and will be looking to get back on track.

Donny Aaron, the estranged husband of UFC flyweight contender Andrea Lee, was finally captured and jailed Wednesday after nine months on the run, per MMA Junkie. According to a Shreveport, Louisiana jail spokesperson, he bonded out later the same day.
