UFC President Dana White will indeed be meeting with women’s MMA star Gina Carano (7-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) next week, as he recently confirmed the news to MMAJunkie.
“Interesting, I didn’t see that one coming,” White told MMAjunkie. “I’m meeting with her next week. That’s true.”
The 31-year-old Strikeforce and EliteXC veteran has not competed in an MMA bout since August 2009, when she lost to Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino in a bout to determine the Strikeforce Women’s Featherweight Champion.
Carano recently stated that “the time is now,” in regards to making a decision on her fighting future:
“So I’m either going to do it now, or I’m going to retire and say, ‘OK, I’m never going to do it.’ So now is the moment, I feel.”
