Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza recently underwent his second elbow surgery of the year, and it was a success!

According to his manager Gilberto Faria (via MMAFighting), Souza underwent a successful two-hour surgery on Tuesday, performed by Dr. Rickson de Moraes and Dr. Bruno Lobo Brandao at Hospital São Lucas in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Souza had been diagnosed with ulnar neuropathy, a numbness in his right elbow caused by the entrapment of the ulnar nerve, resulting in numbness and tingling into the fourth and fifth fingers.

Following the succesful surgery, “Jacare” is hopeful to return to the octagon in the first quarter of 2015.

The top middleweight contender is coming off a thrid-round submission win over former Strikeforce champ Gegard Mousasi, which improved his current win streak to seven in a row.
