Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather’s performance against Manny Pacquiao may not have been what fans wanted to see, but he executed his strategy to perfection and remained undefeated with a dominant win.

Pacquiao did an amazing job at dictating where the fight went early on. In typical Mayweather fashion he allowed Pacquiao to push him up against the ropes, but Pacquiao would catch Mayweather off guard which would lead to a several-punch combination from Pacquiao.

Just as often Pacquiao found success with his aggression, Mayweather would make him pay for it.

Despite his style backfiring several times, Mayweather still thrived off of counter punching against the ropes. Every time Pacquiao settled down and gained some confidence, Mayweather would shoot away from the ropes and fire off a straight shot that cracked Pacquiao on the jaw or go in for a clinch.

After thirty minutes of action, Mayweather started to turn up his volume of strikes and found big success in round eleven. It seemed as if he found his range as he started to land lunging strikes more often which seemed to throw-off Pacquiao’s aggressive fighting style.

They embraced in the middle of the ring at the start of the twelfth and final round. After such a close fight where there were no knockdowns and every round counted, this put the final stamp on Mayweather’s winning performance. Even though Mayweather didn’t land anything significant in the final round, he evaded every strike Pacquiao tried to throw at him and outclassed him in the process.

It became clear after all of these rounds who was truly in control.

The judges’ scorecards backed up Mayweather’s confidence as the decision was being read— “Money” is still undefeated.
