Edgar reveals Dana White stopped confrontation with Conor McGregor

Following Conor McGregor’s UFC 194 win over Jose Aldo Saturday night, a UFC official allegedly motioned for Frankie Edgar to step in the Octagon for a staredown with McGregor.

Edgar defeated Chad Mendes via KO Friday night in the main event of the TUF 22 Finale to become the #1 contender at featherweight.

Edgar spoke to MMAJunkie to discuss what happened after he was motioned by a UFC official to step in the cage.

“I walked by the steps and Dana said, ‘No.’ Why would I come in if they don’t know what’s going on yet?”

Could this mean that Edgar won’t get the next title shot, but will instead have to sit on the sideline while Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo have their rematch?

Only time will tell.
