BREAKING | Chael Sonnen Fails Random Drug Test, Will Not Fight Belfort At UFC 175

Chael Sonnen has failed a random drug test and will no longer fight Vitor Belfort at UFC 175 according to NSAC chairman Francisco Aguilar, who confirmed the drug test results with ESPN.com.

The UFC had the following to say on the matter:

“UFC officials acknowledge irregularities in a recent random test. Chael is planning on addressing the matter this afternoon.”

Sonnen tested positive for anastrozole, which is used to treat early stages of breast cancer as well as Clomiphene which increases testosterone levels in men suffering from hypogonadism and is used by women in cases of infertility.

Sonnen has publicly said several times that he suffers from hypogonadism, and after the UFC’s ban of TRT that he “May have to stop the sport.”

Chael will likely address the issue on UFC tonight, which he is an analyst on.
